Read Matthew 28 <3

"The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. 6 He is not here; he has risen, just as he said."

Matthew 28:5-6

Easter is a sweet time. We get to celebrate the resurrection of King Jesus, the One who defeated death and made a way for our relationship with God to be restored. Jesus is Savior—for you, for me, for all the world! What a joy it is to gather with our churches, our families and friends and celebrate this GOOD NEWS! We are reminded of the eternal hope we have in Jesus. He promises to return again, and fully restore the world and His people, and that’s a promise we can hold on to. He is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6). Hebrews 11:1 says, “Now faith is the reality of what is hoped for, the proof of what is not seen.” We have faith that Jesus will keep His promises, because our God has always been faithful and always will be faithful.

In our day-to-day lives, it’s easy to lose this perspective. We may spend a whole day celebrating the resurrection of Jesus, and then forget when we wake up the next day. It's easy to get caught up in our own busyness, the struggles we are experiencing in our lives, the stressors, and the pain and chaos around our communities and the world. We are not to escape these feelings or ignore the hardships in our lives, but Jesus reminds us that He is our hope, He is the answer, He is the One we look toward, and He is the One who we live for.

In Matthew chapter 28, we read the glorious story of the resurrection of Jesus. Mary and Mary Magdalene go to view the tomb and find it EMPTY, and Jesus meets them as they run to tell the disciples. Friends, Jesus is risen and this is good news for everyone. <3 Let this sink in today! We also read His commission to His followers. In verse 18, Jesus says, “All authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth.” We have hope because the One who reigns is faithful and good. His saving grace is bigger than your sin, bigger than your struggles, bigger than your worries. Jesus has defeated death, and He is worthy of celebration and praise every day. Easter is a good time to remember, to reflect, and to celebrate that Jesus is risen. But EVERY day is a good day to have hope and faith in Him, and worship Him because He is worthy. <3
