She’s surrounded by people, but isn’t seen.

When gazed upon, she is looked past.

No one truly knows her,

not like she wants them to.

She’s desperate for something more.

Searching for love in all the wrong places.

Looking for her identity in worldly matters

and doesn’t even know who she’s called to be.

It all seems hopeless.

Everyone sees her as “that girl,”

the one who does it all,

but will she ever be seen as more?

She’s aware of this person: a Savior,

who she’s heard about all her life.

She wants to be filled with his graceful waters,

but she's terrified to jump in.

She dips in the shallow end, just to test it out.

It feels peaceful to the touch,

but she’s too uncomfortable to dive in.

She decides to come back and try again later.

More worldly things come her way.

She falls for temptations and lies.

More broken and confused than before

and most of all, disappointed in herself.

She holds herself to high standards,

but isn’t sure why.

When she fails to meet them,

her whole world seems to sink.

Finally, she’s had enough.

It’s time for a change,

but she can’t do it alone.

So, she goes to the One who will always call her home.

Since that moment, her life has changed.

In a radical way, she’s someone new.

Her spirit is filled with Him

who carries her through the good and bad.

Yet, at the same time she’s still being refined.

And it’s a slow process.

She just abides each day with the One

who sees her, knows her, and loves her.
